The Internet of Things (IoT) is a buzzword that has been around since the early 2000s. As the prelude to the Internet of Everything (IoE), it was touted as the future of the internet. In so many ways it is.
IoT is the system of interconnected devices and sensors that collect and share data from a variety of different sources. This has the potential to revolutionise the way we live and work. With street lights, wastebins and even biometric tags from cows and sheep being connected to the internet, we are all becoming increasingly connected to our environments.
